Gillette Elvgren has been writing for over thirty years, his plays having been produced by professional theatre companies  throughout the world.  He is co-founder and resident playwright for Saltworks Theatre Company in Pittsburgh, PA., a professional  theatre  that offers social action plays to schools and institutions in the mid-west.  Presently, Elvgren has plays touring in Nepal and Northern India dealing with AIDS Prevention.  His full length dramas have been produced at several Universities as well as Off Broadway, and regional theatres to include The Lambs Theatre, San Diego; Pacific Theatre, Vancouver;  A.D. Players, Houston; Taproot Theatre Company, Seattle; and New City Theatre, Pittsburgh.

While a Professor at the University of Pittsburgh he was head of the M.F.A. directing program and staff director for the Three Rivers Shakespeare Festival.  Presently he is a Professor in Film-TV at Regent University, Virginia Beach, where he teaches courses in play and filmscript writing. There have been approximately 8,000 performances of Elvgren scripts.
