Mark Sleiter

MFA Writing Faculty

Mark Sleiter is a fiction writer, essayist, and occasional poet who believes that, in the words of Anaïs Nin, “We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospect.” Since graduating with an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Oregon, Mark has held seemingly every writing-related position—author, teacher, tutor, editor, proofreader, and copywriter. (What, no Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy?) His work has appeared in several publications including Chautauqua Literary Journal, Northwest Review, Burnside Review, and Scratch. Mark teaches creative writing at the New Hampshire Institute of Art. Currently, he resides in Massachusetts with his unique blend of sarcastic hope, cynical compassion, and groan-inducing puns.
