Maureen has been teaching at the Institute since 2004 but her love of ceramics started long before that. She’s owned her own ceramics studio since 1987, has been a member of the Potters Guild since 1989 and a member of the America Craft council since 1985. She has a a great depth of knowledge about ceramics from kiln building and firing, to glaze calculations and slip casting. She has won many awards, most notably Artist Fellowship recipient (New Hampshire Council on the Arts); Best in Innovation Award (Biennial Members Juried Exhibition, Paul Creative Arts Center, Durham NH) ;Recipient of the Artist Advancement Grant (NH Charitable Foundation Piscataqua Region). Maureen is also the author of “Surface Design for Ceramics” published by Lark Books. The book is used by artists and teachers around the world and feature nearly 50 techniques that will engage and inspire emerging as well as established artists!
