Residence Life

Immerse yourself in a world devoted to inspiring great work. Living at the Institute of Art and Design puts you in the heart of a thriving community of passionate artists. In our residence halls, you’ll forge connections with students working in a wide range of disciplines. You’ll exchange ideas, share inspiration, and create new and exciting opportunities for collaboration. You’ll build connections that will last far beyond your college experience, continuing to excite your craft for the rest of your life.

Each of our unique residence halls is located just steps from campus, putting you right next door to classes, studio spaces, and galleries. Our location in the heart of downtown Manchester, NH, means the amenities of the city are just around the corner. You’ll be an easy walk away from shops, restaurants, cafes and night spots. Catch a quick ride to world-class concert venues and sporting arenas. Hop on a bus to day-trip to Boston, or escape into the pristine NH countryside, only a few minutes drive down the road.

Our residence halls are all safe and secure, with on-site resident assistants and an active, involved residence life staff committed to supporting both your academic and personal needs.

Forge new friendships. Broaden your horizons. You’ll find this an inspiring place to call home.

BFA Creative Writing

"There is so much to do. We're a block from Elm Street so you can walk to go get a coffee, hear some music, or go to an open mic slam poetry night. The Currier Museum is right down the street. There are opportunities for artists everywhere. It's the perfect location." Allie Groulx, Creative Writing, 2016
